Little Haiti is revitalizing nearly 18 acres of industrial and vacant land in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood to create a walkable urban campus that will soon become a top location for technology, innovation as well as entrepreneurship, art and culture, while preserving the authentic identity of the community.

Little Haiti (MCID), a master-planned urban community is committed to technology and sustainability as in addition to art and culture. It covers approximately 18 acres in Little Haiti. It is located just north of Wynwood which is the Design District, and adjacent to the MiMo district in Miami, Florida. The Magic City Innovation District is a walking community that is a campus-like area where people with different backgrounds can live a quality life and help write the next chapter of history on the way we do business, live, play and grow together.

MCID is determined to bring an innovative development that will be a self-sustaining economic engine within one of the most dynamic regions of Miami. This development will be inclusive of responsible businesses, entrepreneurs and innovative individuals. The development of MCID is three phased. First, the assemblage, entitlement and renovating the buildings. Second, the neighborhood activation through lease up of the newly renovated buildings as well as the activation of the MCID Park (current phase). Third, the development of new structures in line to the newly approved master plan.

MCID has been renovating factories, warehouses, buildings to create unique places for galleries, offices and cafes. The project team also created little Haiti community, which is a fund for charity located at the Miami Foundation. This non-profit organization is 501(c)(3). It helps the cultural, economic, and social prosperity of Little Haiti as well as the many residents who reside there.

The MCID team has worked closely with the local community over many years to gain a deep knowledge of the values and requirements of everyone that will benefit from this broad-based project. MCID will provide significant community benefits, including a historic contribution of up to $31 million in installments into the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust a trust to be created by the City of Miami to coordinate and aid in revitalizing efforts of the community in Little Haiti. The trust's priorities include affordable homeownership and housing, as well as education programs for the community, local small business development as well as local workforce participation and recruitment programs, community beautification projects as well as the establishment and maintenance of public parks. Additionally, the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust Fund is managed and overseen solely by and for the community.

MCID acknowledges the significance of mobility in cities such as Miami and is determined to improve the accessibility of neighborhoods by improving roads, investments in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and open public and civic space. The development of a 2.18-acre pedestrian promenade, known as the Promenade du Grand Bois, as well as 3.8 acres of civic space are part of this plan.
